On June 20, at the invitation of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in China, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), attended the Asian Premiere of the documentary “Back to the Wild”, held at Beijing Foreign Studies University. At the meeting, Zhou Jinfeng discussed with Ms. Hana Makki, producer of Image Nation Abu Dhabi and director of documentary, Mr. Mohammed Manea Al Remeithi, senior wildlife researcher of the Environment Department of the United Arab Emirates, and Ms. Si Ping, China Wildlife Conservation Association, on "The efforts of the United Arab Emirates and China in wildlife and environmental protection". 

The host, Ms. Makki, interviewed Dr. Zhou Jinfeng and raised a series of questions. In this interview, Zhou Jinfeng introduced the reintroduction of elk and the establishment of the China Elk Foundation. Taking elk and the Gazelle De Przewalski of Qinghai Lake as examples, he expressed his views on the protection of genetic diversity of endangered species.

The host referred to the problem of plastic pollution, which she said was also a very serious challenge in the United Arab Emirates, and asked Zhou Jinfeng to share the practice of the CBCGDF. Zhou Jinfeng first introduced the CBCGDF's "Chopstick Walking" initiative. He pointed out that under the background of "ecological civilization" put forward by China, some current practices are unsustainable: he took the resource and environmental costs of the booming takeaway industry, the story of a primary school in Zhongguancun that forced students to wrap plastic book covers as an example, introduced the CBCGDF's advocacy of "green consumption" and "say no to plastic book covers!" Initiative and other practical exploration.
