Metropolis Beijing May Need More Sustainable Water Management

Beijing is a city in severe water shortage. This weekend, I saw the way the city's greening and watering, and cleaning works by commercial office buildings, I feel a little sad.

Esp. when I saw workers wash the ground with high-pressure water guns at the office building of Raycom Building in Beijing's Silicon Valley--Zhongguancun. I have witnessed many times that those prohibitive office buildings flush the front ground with water pipes or high-pressure water guns. Is this really necessary? CBCGDF has suggested the real estate company in this regard, but has not been listened to. Roycom Real Eastate belongs to the famous Lenovo Group.

It is reported that the water brought by the South-to-North Water Transfer Project accounts for 73% of the daily water supply in Beijing. The major project of this strategic project is to transport water from southern China to northern China to alleviate the pressure of over-exploitation of groundwater in Beijing.

Beijing used to have many wetlands in history, but with the rapid growth of population in latest decades, the pressure of water resources in this metropolis is increasing. Even if the water is reclaimed water, is this way of using water really sustainable?
