On March 4, the Asia-Pacific Preparatory Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the International Convention on Dangerous Chemicals (Basel Convention, Stockholm Convention, Rotterdam Convention) kicked off in Suzhou, eastern China's Zhejiang Province. Representatives of governments, research institutions and non-governmental organizations from more than 30 countries around the world participated in the meeting. The two-day meeting will focus on preparations for the 2019 Conference of the Parties to the three Conventions to be held in Geneva at the end of April. As observers to the 3 conventions, CBCGDF sent representative to the meeting who's actively participating the events.

Dedicated to Environmental Protection, the CBCGDF has done a great deal of work in the prevention and control of chemical pollution, soil pollution, plastic pollution, etc. We have carried out lots of Environmental Public Interest Litigation against polluters, submitted policy proposals and legislative suggestions. Prevention is better than cure. We will make more efforts in this regard in the future.
