CBCGDF and many volunteers are very concerned about Lei Ping. Is she still okay?

At the beginning of 2018, CBCGDF volunteer Lei Ping was in administrative detention by Xinyi Police in the name of “spreading rumors and disrupting public order” due to reflecting the fact that Guangdong’s “Maoyuan Stone Field started to pollute the creek and the stream was polluted into white”. This matter caused great concern in the field of environmental protection online. CBCGDF urgently coordinated the intervention of lawyers after the incident. In the end, Xinyi Police revoked the administrative detention penalty imposed on Lei Ping and said that the punishment was indeed inappropriate. Lei Ping also withdrew the lawsuit against Xinyi Police.

After going through this storm, everyone is always very concerned about Lei Ping's situation.

A few days ago, Lei Ping came to the CBCGDF office with a small certificate and expressed gratitude to the Secretary-General of the CBCGDF. The Secretary-General also thanked Lei Ping on behalf of the CBCGDF, and praised her courage to face difficulties, and said that it was not easy for volunteers to carry out environmental protection work in the forefront. The volunteers often encounter difficulties and setbacks, and CBCGDF will do what we should do. The CBCGDF Volunteer System is to make the environmental volunteers who join the CBCGDF feel at ease. CBCGDF will be a part of many people who care and support Lei Ping, and there are more people around us who are silently supporting.

Lei Ping came here and also talked about her future plans for practicing environmental protection, learning, and growth, and hopes to continue to deepen the study of insects, and said that she should learn English as well as the Secretary-General and provide more help for the future work.

Lei Ping was also very interested in the CCAfa. After listening to the introduction of the prominent features of the CCAfa: "environmental protection, people's participation, advocacy and mission, proper patrol at any time and place". Lei Ping, in combination with the biodiversity of her hometown, expressed her hope to promote the establishment of “China Conservation Area at Xinyi”.

The Secretary-General of the CBCGDF has placed high expectations on Lei Ping's future planning. He said that if she needs to work in the field of environmental protection, he can help to provide a recommendation letter. He hopes that she can learn wisdom and strength from difficulties and better work with other environmental volunteers.
