On 25th December, the Social Organizations Go Global Capacity Building Workshop, hosted by the China Association for NGO Cooperation, was held in Beijing. In the workshop, participants shared and exchanged their experience as non-governmental organizations conducting international exchanges and carried out fruitful discussions on the opportunities and challenges of social organization when “going global”.

The workshop aimed to jointly discuss the future path of China's non-governmental organizations to participate in international advocacy, to summarize the difficulties and experience sharing in the participation activities, and thus go global for the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the “South-South Cooperation”. Participants shared their role in promoting and developing policies through international platforms including C20, Civil BRICS, AIIB, UNFCCC COP24, NDB Annual Meeting, as well as CBD COP14.

CBCGDF Rep. attended the workshop and shared her experience in a keynote: "Reflection: Can social organizations go global without leaving home, and deeply participate in global environmental governance? "

In the speech, she highlighted the facts that despite that China saw over 80000 social organizations growing, there was only 1% of them going global, among which less than 1% of them are environmental organizations (or NGOs).

She encouraged more NGOs to make the best of their advantages and go global in an innovative way to better serve China’s course of Ecological Civilization and of building a Community of Shared Future for Mankind.
