Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the Secretary-General of CBCGDF, the executive committee member of the Club of Rome and the Secretary-General of the Club of Rome China Chapter, is invited to the Entrepreneurs of China Contribute to the World’s Third Pole Eco-Environmental Protection Conference, which will take place on March 12 during the upcoming UN Environment Assembly 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya.

As a side event of the UN Environment Assembly, this Conference is hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, organized by CBCGDF. The purpose of this Conference is to share the positive solution of enterprises in China for the protection of the ecological environment of the World's Third Pole and to introduce how to implement the community-based "China Conservation Area for something at somewhere" (CCAfa) system, to protect the World's Third Pole better. Meanwhile, it is to analyze the problems and difficulties encountered in the protection of the ecological environment of the World's Third Pole to seek the most advanced ideas, the highest sophisticated technology, and the most practical solution. We hope to build bridges with international environmental organizations and experts to contribute to the world's ecological environment.

On this occasion, on behalf of CBCGDF, Dr. Zhou will be presenting with a keynote themed on “China Conservation Area for something at somewhere” (CCAfa) system established by CBCGDF creatively. This innovated approach has Chinese characteristics and aims to protect biodiversity, natural environment, humanities resources, encourage and support local volunteers, civil society organizations and communities to join, with public participation protection as the core, and share the deeds and experiences of public protection and promote mutual assistance and promotion of protection force.

Practice shows that this innovative system has strong vitality and influence. It has pioneered the promotion of a nationwide system of protected areas by social organizations and has a profound impact on biodiversity conservation. Up to now, CBCGDF has established nearly more than 100 CCAfa sites in Inner Mongolia, Tangshan City, Tianjin City, Shanghai City, Ningbo City, Tiaozini in Jiangsu Province, Baiyangdian in Xiongan New Area, Xinjiang and other provinces and autonomous regions, covering the dark and starry sky and ancient trees, cultural relics, deserts and wetlands, endangered plant species Acer pentaphyllum, Przewalski's gazelle, Baiji dolphin, great bustard, pangolin, etc.
