The mission of the Earth Day

Earth Day is April 22 of every year. April 22, 2020, will mark 50 years of Earth Day. Since the year of 2020 witnessed the half-century history of Earth Day, the topic is particularly important. Considering the most emergent challenge for the earth is climate change, the theme of 2020 Earth Day is Climate Action to mobilize all citizens of Earth "to call for greater global ambition to tackle our climate crisis.

Climate change influences the future of human beings as well as the livability of our planet.

The modern environmental protection movement took a historic step a year after the first photochromic of the planet was taken.

On April 22, 1970, about 20 million Americans walked onto the streets and campuses in over one hundred cities to stage protests, expressing their anger over the government's negligence to environmental protection and a better future. This is the origin of Earth Day. Since then, the United States Congress began to take actions and many milestone environmental regulations and laws were adopted.

After 50 years, people realize that it is time for all of us to work together. But in comparison with the year of 1970, the situation has changed a lot: human beings are facing various environmental threats such as toxic pollution, haze, oil spill, and the most serious one-climate change.

The double challenges brought out by COVID-19 and climate change make 2020 Earth Day unique. We can and must solve the two challenges. The globe maybe not ready for fighting against the coronavirus, but we still have time to stop the climate crisis.

To promote the "rise of the earth" through the Internet

In 2020, Earth Day Network, China Biodiversity Conservation, and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), and International Fund for China's Environment (IFCE) join hands to launch the "Pray for the Earth, Voice for Nature" event to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and contribute to stopping the climate crisis.
