As an electronic luring device, the electric media machine violates the provision in Article 24 of Wildlife Protection Law: it is prohibited to use poison, explosives, or electronic luring devices and other tools for hunting.

Despite the provisions of this law, it will not be enforced automatically. For a long time, the problem of biodiversity conservation in China is not that there is no law, but that law enforcement is weak.

The case of an electric media machine is only a small case in the wildlife trade, but the ecological loss caused by similar poaching is hard to estimate every year.

Wildlife-Free E-Commerce Initiative calls for: under the background of banning illegal wildlife trade and eliminating the abuse of wild animals, the relevant authorities of our country (such as the business department and network information department) should strengthen the investigation and punishment of the information release and purchase channels of online wildlife trade, and also clarify the responsibilities and obligations of e-commerce platform.
