Zhou Jinfeng Made a Video Speech to CMS COP13’s China-India Joint Side Event-People’s Participation: Bottom Up Approach Towards Migratory Species Conservation

At 1: 45-2: 30 PM local time on February 17, 2020, a side event of CMS COP13 co-organized by China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), Operation Earth and TERRE Policy Centre: People ’s Participation: Bottom Up Approach Towards Migratory Species Conservation was successfully held. The CBCGDF representative participated in the conference remotely.


When Mr. Rajendra Shende, Chairman of TERRE Policy Centre made an opening speech, he talked about cooperation with CBCGDF and other NGOs around protecting great bustard and other wild migratory species. Mr. Ian Redmond, Chairman of Ape Alliance, shared the theme of Grassroots Conservation-Lessons from Mountain Gorillas.


Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the Secretary-General of CBCGDF delivered a video message for the side event. He first thanked the CMS Secretariat, Mr. Rajendra Shende, and everyone who participated in the side event. Afterwards, he said: People ’s Participation is the key to protecting migratory species. CBCGDF has been committed to calling on more and more people in the country to join biodiversity conservation, endangered wild species rescue operations and actions; and it also calls on people to gradually change their behavior habits and raise awareness of wildlife protection.


Dr. Zhou finally emphasized that it has entered a new stage of ecological civilization construction. He hopes that more people can actually participate in practical actions and build a beautiful home for all life on earth.
