The Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) Dr. Zhou Jinfeng says, a stimulate to economic growth, from the perspective of President Xi's Ecological Civilization thoughts, inevitably leads to unreasonable and excessive sacrifice to the ecological environment. Therefore, economic development achieved by stimulating policies on the cost of ecology and environment should never be encouraged.

Dr. Zhou pointed out that we should ensure objectives, policies, and measures are oriented and in accordance with the philosophy of Ecological Civilization, so as to meet people's aspirations to live a better life and achieve the Beautiful China initiative. Stimulating consumption and production is the least wise way to promote GDP. We should endeavor to oppose consumption alienation and excessive production. We should maintain a balance between environmental protection and ecological construction. We should conserve nature and promote the green transition. Green development serves as the foundation of the high-quality modern economic system. A healthy ecological environment can accelerate the economy and society to develop in a sustainable way.

The Chinese economy advanced 6 percent year-on-year in the September quarter of 2019, slowing from a 6.2 percent expansion in the previous quarter. Some people point out that the 6 percent growth rate was maintained by stimulus policies.
