On October 12, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) received the official notice on the recommendation and selection of several awards candidates from the China Association for Science and Technology. The specific selection criteria are as follows:

1. The 16th Young Female Chinese Scientists Awards

(1)  Individual Award

The candidates should make major findings in basic science, life science or computer science. Those who play a leading role in an innovation group could be given a prior recommendation.

The candidates should be Chinese female practitioners of science and technology under 45 years old.

(2)  Group Award

The candidate group leader should meet the selection criteria of the Young Female Chinese Scientist Award

The candidate group should carry out a national scientific research task(s) or make major innovate and systematic breakthroughs in basic science, life science, and computer science.

The candidate group should have clear development planning and goals, as well as the innovation ability.

The candidate group should have a reasonable and stable layout. Female researchers should account for at least 50%, and the number of core leading members should be more than 5.

2. The Future Female Scientists Plan of 2019

The candidate should be engaged in scientific researches in the field of basic science, life science, or computer science. Research programs involving animals and cosmetics are not included.

The applicants should be Chinese female Ph.D. candidates or post doctors under 35 years old.

The award applicants should have scheduled scientific research projects with a duration of no less than 12 months after receiving the funding.

3. Chinese Youth Science and Technology Award and the Special Award

(1) The candidate of the Chinese Youth Science and Technology Award should meet one of the following standards:

*Achieve major and innovative breakthroughs, or make an enormous contribution in the research field of natural science;

*Achieve major and innovative outcomes, or make a contribution in engineer technology, and get a practical application;

*Achieve eminent progress in scientific technology popularization, scientific transformation, management, and bring out obvious social or economic growth.  

(2) The candidate of the Chinese Youth Science and Technology Special Award should meet the following standard:

Make breakthroughs in scientific research or engineer technology development, or make a great contribution, has considerable potentials and can be praised as an example for young scientists.

The candidates of the Chinese Youth Science and Technology Award and the Special Award should be Chinese citizens. Male candidates should be under 40 years old, and female under 45 years old.

CBCGDF welcomes affiliated working groups, committees of experts, special funds, and relevant agencies to recommend eligible excellent youth representatives who have made a great contribution to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
