The village has 145 poor families and 585 poor people. Since the beginning of the battle against poverty, with the joint efforts of all parties, the whole village will achieve poverty alleviation in 2018.

Xi Jinping came to the village cultural reception center to know about the poverty alleviation work of Guangshan county and the situation of helping the poor in Guangshan county. In recent years, Dongyue Village has vigorously promoted the poverty alleviation of the "colorful countryside" industry, established the village e-commerce service center, and sold the village's agricultural and sideline products to all parts of the country. Xi Jinping inspected the special products such as Ciba, moon cakes, salted duck eggs, black pig meat, sweet potato vermicelli, sweet rice wine, "Guangshan ten treasures" and Guangshan down-filled coats, and inquired in details about the market sales and the role of the villagers to shake off poverty.
