February 11, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) received information on the confiscation of suspected pangolin scales published by the official website of Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department: December 12, 2017, 313kg of suspected pangolin scales from Tai Po; May 30, 2017, 7200kg of suspected pangolin scales from Qing Yi Goods Examination Centre; January 5, 2018, 1800kg of suspected pangolin scales from Kui Chong Custom House Goods Examination Centre; March 7, 2018, 2800kg of suspected pangolin scales from Qing Yi Customs Goods Examination Centre; May 15, 2018, 630kg of suspected pangolin scales from Qing Yi Goods Examination Centre; July 20, 2018, 7100kg of suspected pangolin scales from Nigeria; November 16, 2018, 109kg of suspected pangolin scales from Hong Kong International Airport; December 29, 2018 to January 3, 2019, 440kg of suspected pangolin scales (respectively) from Hong Kong International Airport, To Kwa Wan and Yau Tong; February 1, 2019, 8300kg of suspected pangolin scales jointly seized by Hong Kong and Inland Customs and Excise Department.

 

The above confiscated suspected pangolin scales weigh a total of 286920kg. After applying to Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department for disclosing information on the source (countries) of these confiscated pangolin scales, their whereabouts (where have they been handed over to or other modes of processing), and pangolin species matched by these scales, CBCGDF was informed of data on relevant endangered animals and plants, with additional information able to be accessed via emailing to Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department. CBCGDF is waiting for reply from Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department now.
