On February 29, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) Pangolin Working Group formally sent a letter to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, requesting that after the National People's Congress has established a comprehensive ban on the consumption of wild animals, and existing scientific research indicates that pangolins are potential hosts of the novel coronavirus, statistics of the situation of pangolins currently being kept in captivity should be made open to the public as soon as possible.

At the same time, under the supervision of the public and social organizations, implement pangolin wild release or return as soon as possible, stop the administrative approval of forestry departments to approve pangolin medicine, and improve the protection level of pangolin to effectively protect pangolin, the globally endangered species.
